Beetroot Rice – பீட்ரூட் சாதம்
Ingredients
- Beetroot – 1
- Rice – 120g
- Red Onion – 1
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Garlic cloves – 3
- Peanuts – 2 tsp
- Green Chilli – 1
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander seed powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
- Lime – 1
- Mint leaves – Few
- Coriander leaves – Few
- Pepper powder – Required
- Oil – Required
- Salt – Required

How to Prepare
Total Preparation time: 10-15 minutes
- Wash rice cleanly then soak it in 380ml water for 30 minutes, add salt and cook it then transfer into a bowl and keep aside
- Finely slice the red onion in lengthwise, chop green chillies, chop garlic and grind them like a paste, chop coriander leaves, chop mint leaves separately and keep aside
- Grate beetroot nicely and keep aside
- Take the juice from lime, filter it and keep aside
- Take a pan add 1 tsp oil once oil heats up, add peanuts, saute it till become golden
- Add cumin seeds, then add ginger paste, followed by onions and green chilli and saute them for 5 minutes till onion become golden
- Then add grated beetroot and saute it for 5 minutes till beetroot become soft
- After that add red chilli powder, coriander seeds powder, garam masala powder and mix it for a minute
- Once raw smell goes off, add cooked rice and required amount of salt and mix it gently for 3 minutes in medium flame
- Turn off the flame and add 2 tsp lime jucie and mix well with rice
- Finally sprinkle coriander leaves and mint leaves for nice look
- Now the attractive Beetroot rice is ready for serve
