Apple Halwa – ஆப்பிள் அல்வா


  • Sweet Apples – 3
  • Milk – 250ml
  • Sugar – 250g
  • Cardamom – 6
  • Cashew nuts – 30
  • Raisins – 8
  • Ghee – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes

  1. Take two apples, clean them, cut them and blend them with 300ml water, the juice will be thin and keep aside
  2. Cut 1 apple, grate it finely and keep aside, this is for apple flavour
  3. Heat a pan with ghee, fry cashewnuts, raisens, cardamom for 2 minutes and keep aside
  4. Take a heavy bottomed pan and heat it with 2 tbsp ghee then apple water and 250ml milk
  5. And stir them continuously till the recipe becomes thinker, this process may takes 20 to 30 minutes
  6. After that add sugar, grated apple then mix them well
  7. Now add ghee fried raisin, cashew nuts, cardamom then mix again and stir for 3 minutes
  8. Then add 2 tbsp ghee and mix it well and stir till the ghee comes from the halwa this may take 30 minutes
  9. Stir it very well to avoid burnt bottom and once it become thicker, thick gooey, non sticky and this is the perfect halwa consistency
  10. Turn off the flame and transfer it into a bowl
  11. Now the healthy Ragi halwa is ready for serve
