Ellu Kolukattai – எள்ளு கொழுக்கட்டை

Ingredients

  • Rice – 250g
  • Jaggery – Required
  • Coconut – 1
  • Cardamom – 3
  • Ghee – Required
  • Salt – Required
  • Oil – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes

  1. Dry roast rice, make it cool and grind them like a powder, grate coconut, grate cardamom and keep them aside separately
  2. Add 2 tsp oil, required salt then add slowly, add the boiled water in rice flour, make a smooth dough then marinate for 40 minutes
  3. Soak the sesame seeds for 10 minutes, clean them thoroughly, dry them 15 minutes in cloth
  4. Heat the pan and roast sesame seeds for minutes till it completely dry out
  5. Add jaggery and coconut, cardamom and roast them for 10 minutes till it melts completely
  6. After cool down, make it like a small lemon sized balls and keep aside
  7. Take the dough and make lemon sized small balls and flatten it, place the sesame stuffings inside
  8. And close the dough like coned shaped kolukattai
  9. Take a idli steamer vessel, you can use any steamer, add water and boils it for 10 minutes
  10. Then place vessel and white cloth, then place the prepared kolukkattai, and close the steamer vessel
  11. Allow them cook in steam for 10 minutes and finally move into a plate
  12. Now the Sweet Ellu Kolukattai is ready for serve
