Mango Halwa – மாம்பழம் அல்வா


  • Sweet Mangoes – 2
  • Milk – 250ml
  • Sugar – 200g
  • Cardamom – 6
  • Cashew nuts – 30
  • Raisins – 8
  • Ghee – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes

  1. Cut the mangoes, remove seeds, skin then grind it like a thick smooth paste and keep aside
  2. Heat a pan with ghee, fry cashew nuts, raisins, cardamom for 2 minutes and keep aside
  3. And heat a heavy bottomed pan with 2 tbsp ghee and then add prepared mango paste and add 250ml milk
  4. And stir it continuously till it becomes thinker, it may takes 20 to 30 minutes and then add sugar and mix it well
  5. After that add ghee followed by fried raisin, cashew nuts, cardamom and mix it well and stir it for 3 minutes
  6. Then add 2 tbsp ghee, mix and stir it till the ghee comes out from the halwa, this may takes 30 minutes
  7. Stir continuously to avoid burnt at bottom, once it become thicker, gooey and non sticky means the recipe is in perfect halwa consistency
  8. Now, turn off the flame then transfer it into a bowl
  9. Finally the tasty Mango halwa is ready for serve
